Organic product imports

Organic imports from third countries need the appropriate control route and consignment evidence. Customs clearance does not replace organic-status checks.

Check before contracting

Identify product, origin, exporter and the relevant controlling entity. Acceptance depends on applicable categories and rules. An overseas certificate is not automatically sufficient for EU organic marketing.

Roles and COI workflow

Allocate importer, first-consignee and documentation responsibilities. Certificates of inspection and transport information must agree. TRACES handling needs correct roles and timing for the actual consignment.

Receipt and discrepancies

Compare products, quantities, identifiers, packaging and approved documents. Unloading pressure must not override discrepancy handling. Release decisions require an evidence trail.

What the project produces

The agreed scope includes a requirements map, prioritised actions, responsibilities, operating records and a readiness review. Deliverables are agreed before implementation. Existing documents are reviewed for usefulness rather than replaced automatically.

Evidence before the review

Prepare process descriptions, supplier records, traceability information and any open findings. Do not send sensitive files through the public contact form. The first enquiry should describe the operation; detailed document exchange is agreed separately.
